Welcome to The Tutors' Association's Automated DBS Check System
The Tutors' Association (TTA) is the non-profit professional body representing tutors and tuition companies.
TTA requires all of its individual members to hold a valid DBS that is either:
- (a) registered with the DBS Update Service (strongly recommended), or;
- (b) issued within the past year.
Tutors must commit to meeting this requirement in order to remain eligible for membership, and must consent to their DBS status being automatically checked by TTA on a regular basis. TTA also requires all of its corporate members to only work with, engage or introduce tutors who comply with our DBS policy as set out above.
TTA offers this automated DBS check system to allow corporate members and TTA staff to check the DBS status of linked tutors. It checks tutor records against the central DBS Update Service Record (where tutors are subscribed to the Update Service) as well as the age and details of the DBS itself.
